201228Mon_MTB_Trail-7

The last this year but not least, Ken and I came to ride the Trail-7.

I remember we used to enjoy trails around here.

And I also remember I met my current riding members here in 2008 when I started this blog.

From a trail station, we see a mountain that we call "GG" in the distance. Far enough to think "Can we really get there by bike?"

But actually, we usually get there with the only exception that we encountered rain on the way.

This time, we had nice weather and terrain condition!

For a long time, I have not ridden a new trail.

But Ameyami took us to unknown trails, nice and comfortable ones!

I was happy feeling we have more trails to visit..

Again, we have come to our favorite riding routes.. what we call the “U-pass and F-pass” combination. Believe me, they are in Tokyo!

If trekking, I don't prefer repeating the same mountain. And I don't even like going up and down the same route.

But we still insist.. to ride U&F.

Even ups and downs are fun, on the route of F.

54 seconds only

Late autumn.. The sound of rolling on the fallen leaves is comfortable.

The days go by quickly. Also years do.

I checked this blog and it was found that I came here, the S-Ridge for the first time in 11 years!!

11 years.. I wonder how I spent the years.

201031Sat_MTB-Okutama-U&F

It was June when I rode in the mountains the last time.

Why a long interval? I'm sure that is burning summer... Can anybody survive in backyard hills at over 35 degC?

Anyway, we are back to Okutama cross country!

These days, it's cold in many days. But this day, it was nice and warm, perfect weather!

200610Wed_MTB U&F

I wondered how long this nice & fine weather with breeze would last..

This time I came here just after the hiking on the previous day because I knew the summer would be just around the corner. The summer, which is a little bit too hot!

I rode U&F as usual, having a feeling that I can't ride for a while... Maybe.

200605Fri_MTB K-Ridge

Here I ride the K-Ridge after 7.5-year (!!) interval.

You must wonder why I can remember the route.. but I came here a couple of times for trail running.

This looks really like Okutama..

BTW, now we have more steps than before. For riders, steps are boring and tiring.

Who needs this any way..

200517_Sun MTB Trail-7

One of these days when the weather is nice with refreshing breeze, we came to this place, what we call the "Trail-7"

At the beginning of the MTB gathering, Trail-7 was one of main trails but for some reason we had not visited for a long time.

Now we have a hard time remembering the details of the routes... Must not have a long interval in any trails, especially complicated ones :)

200509_Sat MTB U&F

Here we had a good time riding in the woods, along these trails, in our fields..

MTB.. I don't know anything else that can be a fun doing the same thing over and over again in the very same places!!

200425_Sat MTB GG

Nothing but riding around these days...

Nice sunny days keep on..

To be honest, there are few choices of MTB fields close to where we live, especially where you do not meet many people.

Now, we've found it was one of the best season in Japan where you may feel warm, or cool, without sweating a lot even during exercises.

200411_Sat MTB U&F

Oh, it's a miserable situation now because of COVID-19...

However, there should be something we can do even at this kinda time.

For instance, we can do an activity that we do not have to...

1) get on a crowded train,
2) contact other people,
3) and stay in a closed space.

Oh, that is something we usually do!

Ride MTB in our back yard.

We were impressed by "SAKURA" in our field that we should have noticed since long time ago.

Sakura always blooms no matter what happens... like TSUNAMI, or COVID...

I, personally think that we can survive by maintaining our lives with doing what we love.

200320Fri_MTB Tokyo-Okutama U&F

Here we came to ride Okutama, Tokyo.

Today, three of us, Ken, Lassie & me.

As usual, we had a good time riding dry trails in a warm day for March.

Please check how we rode this time!

200208Sat_MTB Tokyo-Okutama U&F

Again, we met at a station within Musashi-Itukaichi line of JR.

Heading to trails as usual in Okutama mountains.

We repeat.. because of fun, much fun that's never let you down.

We always talk how lucky tokyo residents are.

We checked our figures by hill-climbing up to Pass "U", and then rode down the trail towards Ohme area in the morning.

Then after a short break at a convenience store,  headed to Pass "F" to continue riding 2 more trails which always make us happy as MTB riders.

It's already a kind of routine to finish riding at Hamura station of JR, move and make a toast at a Soba-ya at Fuchu along Keio-line :)

200104_MTB Tokyo-Okutama U&F

Here we came to Okutama, to ride MTB! ..as usual, to the pass "U" & "F".

Well, I know it's been a very long time since we came here before, to say "as usual".. though.

Anyway, Ken and I were aware how important to keep on exercising by the last ride at the end of 2019.

The trail from "U" pass was fairy nice, showing no impacts by the furious Typhoon-#19, without fallen branches or tree trunks. Actually, maybe better than the average??

Contrary to "U", minor route of "F" from Ohme side was with many fallen trees that let us down.. and tired.

Furthermore, I was not in a good figure myself and my MTB's brake pads were consumed, with uncomfortable creaky noise that bothered me a lot.

Thus, we ended up with 1 ride from "U" and 1.5 rides around "F" pass area.

However, I must not forget to mention that the main route (heading east) of "F" was in a very nice condition..

that made us happy at the end, made us go to the same Soba-ya in Fuchu as we went to just a week ago :)
